6:30 PM – Texaco Country Showdown

The 32nd Annual Texaco Country Showdown is America’s largest Country music talent show. It’s designed to find the most promising country music talent in the nation and to give these performers a chance to launch their professional music careers. The Country Showdown begins each spring with over 450 local talent contests sponsored by country music radio stations throughout the US. Winners advance to their respective State competitions held at leading fairs and venues. Acts then compete for a $1,000 prize, the State Title and the opportunity to advance to one of five Regional Finals. It’s the last step before the prestigious, televised National Final. The audience cheers on the Regional Winners, as they compete for the Grand Prize of $100,000 and the title of “Best New Act in Country Music.”

The Burnet BBQ Cook-off has been selected to host this years Texas State Competition and will kick off the concert Saturday night!

8:30 PM – Six Market Blvd

Six Market Blvd. hails from Stephenville, Texas, home of Tarleton State University where Clayton Landau (lead vocals, harmony, rhythm guitar), Josh Serrato (lead rhythm guitar, 12 string guitar, harmony, piano and organ), Ben Hussey (lead vocals, harmony, electric bass, stand up bass) and Dallas Neal (drums and percussion) met and formed the band in 2008.  The precise elements needed for a successful recording band they had in spades right from the start: multi instrumentalists, solid songwriting core, fluid song structure and comprehensive harmonies. So, in 2010 they released their debut album RUNNING ON SEVEN, which earned them two Top 25 singles on the Texas Music Chart with “Man Alive” and “Misery And Me.”  An additional nod came from the Texas Regional Radio Awards who recently voted them Best New Band. The elements for a successful working band is something they have fined tuned over the years though it seemed for a while they were bringing in just enough to pay their dues.  Today the band is setting foot on much bigger stages like the infamous Larry Joe Taylor’s Texas Music Festival and playing alongside of veteran musicians such as Stoney LaRue, Wade Bowen, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, Adam Hood, Brandon Rhyder, Band of Heathens, Micky and the Motor Cars and Reckless Kelly. Now positioned to stake their claim at the forefront of the touring circuit, Six Market Blvd. is ready to SHAKE IT DOWN.

10:30 PM – Whiskey Myers

Headliner Whiskey Myers closes this year’s show.  Whiskey Myers makes honest music.  Loud and proud, they sing about what they know with a refreshing directness and clarity. Some call it rebel music, but it’s more like everyday soul. Their songs are stories, with characters and situations that are immediately relatable. Stories of celebration, mourning, trials and triumph. Through the quality of these songs, and their undeniable power in concert and on record, the band has attracted a devoted army of outspoken fans who pack venues, sing the band’s praises online and continue to make Whiskey Myers a growing word-of-mouth sensation.
